Book Week is one of our favourite times of the year, and we can't wait to celebrate it again from 22–28 August 2026.
This year's Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) theme, "Symphony of Stories," celebrates the many voices, experiences and adventures that books bring to life. It's a wonderful reminder that every story has the power to spark curiosity, build connections and inspire young minds.

George the Farmer Comes to Life
One of the absolute highlights of Book Week is seeing children and teachers transform into George, Ruby and our other picture book characters.
The best part? George and Ruby are some of the easiest Book Week costumes around! A pair of jeans, boots and a blue or red shirt are all it takes to become part of the George the Farmer world. Or perhaps you'd like to dress up as Will the Wool Classer, Elizabeth Green the Apple Grower, Kev the Shearer or one of our many other farming characters.
Join Our Book Week Competition
To celebrate Book Week 2026, we're giving away two $50 George the Farmer vouchers - one for a student and one for a teacher!

Thank You
To every parent, grandparent, teacher and librarian who continues to share George the Farmer with the children in your life - thank you.
Your support helps us continue creating Australian stories that inspire curiosity, celebrate agriculture and encourage children to become lifelong readers.
We can't wait to celebrate another year of stories, imagination and learning with you all.
