To celebrate Quality Wool’s 35th year, George the Farmer and Quality Wool have joined forces to help the next generation discover where Australian wool comes from, where it goes and what it can become.
Fifty Australian educational institutions will each receive a George the Farmer x Quality Wool - Wool Discovery Kit, designed to provide a hands-on, curriculum-aligned learning experience for children aged approximately 4–10 years.
The Wool Discovery Kit combines storytelling, tactile wool samples, classroom activities and supporting digital content to help children see, hear, read, touch and discover the journey of Australian wool.
Each Wool Discovery Kit includes:
• One George the Farmer Shears a Sheep picture storybook
• One Wool Journey Sample Pack, including raw wool, scoured and carbonised wool, Merino and crossbred carded wool
• One Quality Wool Australian Merino wool scarf as a finished wool product
• Eight Wool Discovery Flash Cards
• Custom Wool Discovery Kit presentation box and accompanying materials
The Let’s Learn About Wool educational resource also connects teachers and students to George the Farmer’s Wool from Sheep educational video and Mate, Where’s My Next Sheep? song.
Digital copies of the educational resource and printable supporting materials are also available free from the George the Farmer website.
